Liberating Movement:
Black, Brown, and Queer All Over

Dance blooms a celebration of community and identity in Santa Cruz, CA.
In this celebratory documentary, Black, Brown, and Queer folks embrace dance as a movement allowing their bodies to move freely and unapologetically take up space in the predominately white affluent communities of Santa Cruz, CA. This short documentary shares the origin story, vision and drive behind the annual BBQueer dance festival. An event that create spaces for the BIPOC queer community to feel seen, affirmed, included and safe. Through workshops, art, and performance Black, Brown, and Queer folks allow their bodies to become a vehicle for expression, moving freely to find home within themselves.
