Historias de Cultura: Oaxaca en Santa Cruz
While finding ways to recover after the COVID-19 pandemic, indigenous elders share how accessing traditions from their homelands in Oaxaca are a vital tool for healing not only themselves but also their communities in Santa Cruz, CA. This 3 part series explores elements of comida (food), medicina (medicine), and musicá (music), and how each of these items carry specific traditions helping to uplift throughout all aspects of life.
This series was created in partnership with Senderos with the support of Santa Cruz City Arts.

Learn the histories of the amazing mole dishes and tejate drink from Doña Lorenza and Maestra Fe Silva Robles. From Santiago Laxopa in northern sierras to Santa Ines Yatzeche in the central valleys of Oaxaca.
